"Is this temporary?" View this post on Instagram ✌️ #mindfulnessmonday ✌️ ⠀ “Is this temporary?” ⠀ When things go wrong, I want you to remember the question above: Is this temporary? When bad things happen to us, we become so focused on that singular moment that we lose perspective. We unconsciously convince ourselves that it’s a death sentence rather than a temporary infraction. ⠀ An example we can all relate to is having “bad” food. The next day, we are overcome with guilt and begin to pick ourselves apart in the mirror focusing on where the food went. It’s in moments like this where you are tearing yourself apart that the true mindfulness comes into play. By remember to think less terminal and more temporary, you zoom out of your narrow perspective and come back to the greater picture. One “bad” meal is not going to make you gain weight, repetitive “bad” meals will. ⠀ Nothing in your life is permanent, every moment is finite. It is up to you to remind yourself of this as you process your emotions, especially during the difficult times. As we’ve talked about in the past, remember the unwavering rule. There are no mistakes, every occurrence in your life is necessary for the development of your consciousness.
